The free community tier is — and will remain — the anchor of ipinsights.io. The optional Pro and MSSP tiers below exist to fund the platform's growth without alienating the community we are building.
The Free Tier Promise
Everything the community uses today — IP lookups, blacklist cross-referencing, threat scoring, the network map, ASM, the free REST API, blocklist downloads, the TAXII feed and the weekly reports — stays free. The paid tiers below are additive: they offer scale, automation and deliverables for organisations that need them. They do not gate or degrade anything the community already has access to.

Why introduce a paid tier?
Running a sensor network, an enrichment pipeline and a public API has real costs. A modest commercial layer lets us keep the free tier free — and indeed make it better over time — while funding infrastructure, feeds and engineering time. The paid tiers target organisations that need production guarantees, scale and deliverables; the community keeps what it has always had.
ipinsights.io is operated by Peter Bassill and supported by UK Cyber Defence Ltd. The MSSP tier is designed so that ipinsights.io can sit underneath a managed-service offering without blurring the line between the public platform and a single provider's commercial work.
